CohnReznick Appoints New Principal 
CohnReznick LLP recently announced the appointment of Wayne Walker as a Principal in CohnReznick Advisory Group. Walker specializes in turnaround management, corporate restructuring, corporate governance and bankruptcy matters including creditor committee participation and fiduciary services. CohnReznick has also acquired an ownership interest in Walker’s Philadelphia-based international business consulting firm, Walker Nell Partners, Inc.

BerryDunn Adds New Principals
BerryDunn has added four new principals: Ed Daranyi, Julie Keim, Chad Snow, and Seth Webber. In addition, Frank O’Shea was re-elected to the firm’s Management Committee.

Daranyi has more than 15 years’ project management and quality assurance experience, working on Medicaid projects in Maine, Iowa, and West Virginia and other project management work in New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Vermont.

Keim has been with BerryDunn for almost 20 years, providing audit and attest services, financial statement preparation and analysis, financial forecasts and projections, and cost separation and interstate access charges studies for telecommunications clients.

Snow has more than 19 years of local government experience and has worked with municipal and county governments across the country on technology initiatives, ranging from large-scale systems planning and implementation to strategic technology planning and assessments.

Webber has 15 years of consulting, operations, and valuation experience, assisting clients with ESOP transactions and transition planning efforts and providing expert witness services on valuation matters to clients and attorneys.

Dixon Hughes Goodman Names New Assurance Services Managing Partner
Dixon Hughes Goodman recently announced that Brad Newkirk, CPA has been named Assurance Services Managing Partner. Newkirk has over 30 years of public accounting experience, working with a number of multi-state and international public and private companies. He specializes in working with manufacturing and distribution companies, professional services firms, and real estate management and development entities. Newkirk received his Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University and completed postgraduate studies at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

The LBA Group?Announces Two New Partners
The LBA Group recently named Kim White and Jamie Thomas as partners in the firm. Since joining LBA, White has helped transformed the firm and under her leadership, the firm has been named one of Northeast Florida’s Best Places to Work by the Jacksonville Business Journal several times. She is a graduate of the University of North Florida, where she is currently active in coaching and mentoring students in the Coggin College of Business. 

Thomas is responsible for developing and executing the firm’s marketing, communications and business development strategy. She is a contributing author to Bull’s Eye, The Ultimate How-To Marketing & Sales Guide for CPAs, and has appeared in numerous other industry publications.

BKD Professional Receives Ninth Microsoft MVP Award 
BKD Technologies recently announced that Charles Allen, a managing consultant in its Houston office, has received Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional Award for the ninth consecutive year. The award recognizes independent technology community leaders with a deep understanding of Microsoft products and how people use them.  Allen has more than 24 years of experience, performing information system needs assessments and analyses. He graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with a B.B.A. degree in accounting and the University of Mississippi, Oxford, with an M.B.A. degree.

Schneider Downs Announces New Shareholder 
Schneider Downs, recently named Evan Ogrodnik, CPA as a shareholder. Ogrodnik has more than 15 years of public accounting experience, serving clients in a number of industries, including manufacturing, distribution and professional services. Ogrodnik also works with the Schneider Downs Internal Audit Department in assisting clients’ review of internal controls related to income taxes and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from John Carroll University.
